1. What is TTCL PPA?
TTCL PPA is a prepaid account telephone service from TTCL that provides an easy and cost-effective way to call from any TTCL fixed line without direct cash or card.

Under this service, a customer subscribes for TTCL telephone line and purchases airtime on Rafiki Top Up cards which is used to recharge that prepaid line prior to using it.

2. What are the Benefits?
  • Easy access to TTCL network using both direct and remote access services;
  • Possibility of flexible tariff choice to either per minute or second charging;
  • Interactive voice prompts giving status of the account and helping the customer on how to use the whole range of value added services;
  • Flexible promotional charging and discounts based on various products offering;
  • Remotely toping up and transferring the balance to another accounts belonging to families, friends and business partners;
  • Option to use a PIN or not when making calls;
  • Direct access codes for calling, top up, balance check and customer support service;
  • No credit restrictions;
  • Free customer care support;
  • Prepaid call charges;
  • Free emergency calls;
  • No deposit.


  • 3. How do I get connected?
  • You need to apply for a TTCL telephone line. All applications are accepted and processed at any TTCL Customer Service Centre in the location where connection is being sought and where the service is already available;
  • You also must have a tone phone;
  • After the successful application and installation, you will be required to buy a prepaid Rafiki Top Up card from any Customer Service Centre or from any other TTCL Sales outlets.

  • 4. How does TTCL PPA work?
    It is simple, just dial any number from your tone telephone set, voice prompts will guide you to register your line with or without PIN and then top up to have the balance in your account.
    Please note it is the PIN that prevents use of your account from any unauthorized persons, it is therefore recommended that you register to have a PIN for security purpose. However, one can cancel and activate the PIN via management function available on dialing 100.

    Once you have topped up your account you will be able to make calls to the limit of your credit balance and continue receiving calls for a given period after the account runs out of credit.

    5. How is TTCL PPA used to make a voice or fax calls?
  • Lift the receiver
  • Dial 109
  • If you have a PIN at the voice prompt, enter your PIN followed by # and then dial destination followed by #
  • OR
  • Dial 109
  • If you do not have a PIN at the voice prompt, just dial destination followed by #
  • For a fax press a send button after fax tone prompt


  • 6. Top Up Cards
    Your PPA account can be topped up by purchasing one or more of the prepaid Rafiki Top Up cards available at all TTCL Customer Service Centers, dealer locations and other conveniently located retail distribution outlets in the following denominations: TShs. 500/=; 1,000=; 2,000/=; 5,000/=; 10,000/= and 50,000/=.

    7. Topping up your PPA account
  • Dial 104 or 105
  • At the voice prompt press 11 followed by #
  • After another voice prompt press again 11 followed by # and enter the 12 digits number revealed from your prepaid Rafiki Top Up card followed by #
  • Listen to your account balance if the code is entered correctly,
  • OR
  • Dial 100
  • At voice prompt, press 11followed by #
  • After another voice prompt press again 11 followed by # and enter the 12 digits number revealed from your Rafiki Top Up card followed by #
  • Listen to your account balance if the code is entered correctly

  • Each time you top up your account, the card balance will be added on to the existing account balance. A voice announcement reminder to top up your account may be received the first time you make a call and when you get low balance during telephone conversation.

    8. Topping up the family, friends and business partners’ accounts remotely
  • Dial 104
  • At the voice prompt press 11 followed by #
  • After another voice prompt press 22 followed by #
  • Enter the area code and telephone number of the target account followed by #
  • At voice prompt enter the 12 digits number you have revealed from the Rafiki Top Up card followed by #
  • Listen to the balance recharged to the intended account,
  • OR
  • Dial 100
  • At voice prompt, press 11followed by #.
  • After another voice prompt press 22 followed by # and enter the 12 digits number you have revealed from the Rafiki Top Up card followed by #
  • Listen to the balance recharged to the intended account.

  • 9. Checking your PPA account balance
  • Dial 102
  • Listen to your account balance if the code is entered correctly
  • OR
  • Dial 100
  • At voice prompt, press 14 followed by # and listen to your account balance

  • 10. Other important services available by dialing 100
  • Press 13 followed by # for setting default language
  • Press 15 followed by # for PIN setting
  • Press 16 followed by # for PIN cancel,
  • Press 17 followed by # for PIN activation
  • Press 18 followed by # for remote access PIN modification
  • Press 19 followed by # for abbreviated number setting
  • Press 20 followed by # for abbreviated number query
  • Press 33 followed by # for validity notification

  • 11. Reporting a faulty phone and any other service
  • Dial 100
  • At voice prompt, press 00 followed by #
  • Hold on for customer support.
