1. To activate your prepaid line for the
first time
A new customer will dial 073 and press send button
to activate the line, Swahili and English “welcome
notes” will be heard and then the customer
will be prompted to select the language of preference.
2. How to top up your prepaid account?
You can load the credit in three ways:
On SMS screen type service code 111* followed
by 12-digits revealed from your RAFIKI top up
card
Send to 104 or 105
Your new balance message from the system will
be displayed.
or
Enter 104 or 105 plus 12-digits of your RAFIKI
top up card and press send button
Listen to the announcements and press 1 to confirm
the entry.
or
Enter 104 or 105 then press send button
Listen and follow the recharge announcements.
3. To make a call
Calling to another TTCL Mobile just dial customer’s
number with or without TTCL Mobile code e.g. 073
2xxxxxx or just 2xxxxxx.
Calling to TTCL Fixed landline use area code followed
by called destination number.
Calling to other mobile networks dial respective
network access code followed by customer’s
number.
4. Other people to call to TTCL Mobile
A TTCL Mobile line can be called by dialing 073
followed by the customer’s number, e.g. 073
2xxxxx.
5. How to check the balance?
On SMS screen write the word balance
Send to either 102 or 103
You will see your balance message.
or
Dial 102 or 103 and press send button
Listen to your balance announcement.
6. To transfer credit
You can transfer the balance to another TTCL Mobile
line as a single entry as follows:
Enter access code 888*
Plus the amount to be transferred followed by
star *
Plus destination number followed by star #
Press send button
See the acknowledging message
E.g. 888*500*0732920000#
You will have transferred Tshs. 500 to telephone
number 0732920000.
7. Other services
Many more services like internet access, ringing
tones, SMS, per second/minute charging, etc are
all available. Many more services will be added
in future.
8. How to get the top up voucher?
TTCL Rafiki Top up will be available everywhere
countrywide at TTCL counters, retail shops, street
kiosks, super markets, petrol stations, etc in a
wide range of denominations:
